By 2807, Earth's environment had recovered 52 years after World War IV, leading the Galactic Federation to send colonists. Within 20 years, civilization re-emerged, but lawlessness attracted the Federation's attention.
In the late 2870s, the Federation granted the Strahl
Democratic Republic (SDR) governance, who forcefully imposed order with police
and Foreign Legion corps, sparking colonial resentment. The colonists formed
the Earth Independent Provisional Government and declared independence,
prompting the SDR to establish a puppet regime.
Growing tensions led to the formation of the Independent Mercenary Army (IMA) in 2882, composed of WWIV descendants and SDR defectors. The ensuing four-year war escalated in June 2883 when the IMA deployed Armored Fighting Suits, leading the SDR to develop their own.
